Hair Transplant in Turkey with Aftercare in Austria: How It Works
The procedure takes a day. The result takes twelve to eighteen months. What happens during that time decides how good the transplant eventually looks, and it is exactly the period in which most patients treated abroad are left on their own.
Why aftercare is not optional
Transplanted hairs do not simply keep growing. They shed again after two to four weeks. That is medically normal and it is the moment most patients panic. Real growth only starts after three to four months, and the result can only be judged after a year.
Questions and complications that need assessment can appear during this phase: persistent redness, crusting, inflammation around individual follicles, uneven growth. None of that is easy to judge from a photo sent over WhatsApp.
How it works at Apex Beauty
Before the trip: consultation in Austria
The donor area is examined in person, the pattern of loss is assessed, and we establish whether a transplant makes sense at this point at all. Only then is a package chosen and the price fixed.
The procedure in Turkey
At our own clinic, under specialist supervision. Pre-operative examination, blood work, hairline planning, extraction and implantation, plus medication and PRP.
After you return: aftercare in Austria, Germany and Switzerland
This is where the difference lies. Check-ups happen near you, not by message from 2,000 kilometres away. Progress is documented, and if something looks wrong, somebody looks at it in person.
The timeline
- Days 1 to 3: First wash, swelling across the forehead, rest
- Weeks 1 to 2: Crusts come away, the scalp settles
- Weeks 2 to 4: Shock loss. The transplanted hairs fall out. This is normal.
- Months 3 to 4: First new growth, often still thin and uneven
- Months 6 to 9: Density increases noticeably
- Months 12 to 18: Final result, texture and density stabilise
What you have to contribute
Aftercare is not purely a service. Sun protection in the first months, no nicotine during healing, taking prescribed medication consistently, no cap over freshly transplanted areas: these measurably affect the outcome.
The honest assessment
Close aftercare does not turn a badly planned procedure into a good result. What it does is stop a small problem becoming permanent damage, and it removes the uncertainty from the months when you cannot yet see anything.
What the packages include is on the pricing page, and the full treatment process is described on the procedure page.
